Luigi Ferrajoli is considered one of the most influential legal philosophers of the last fifty years. He has served successfully in the judiciary (1967-1975) and in university teaching. He has been a professor of Philosophy of Law and General Theory of law at the University of Camerino and, since 2003, at the University of Rome Ill, of which he is currently Professor Emeritus.

He is the author of a vast scientific work, among which topics related to with guarantees, democracy and the theory of fundamental rights are recurrent. Since the grounds of legal positivism and analytical philosophy, Ferrajoli is currently one of the most trusted voices of legal theory worldwide.
